The Idea Behind Madeira Kids

personMartha Maria Dominguez De Gouveia·calendar_today29 April 2026

A family-focused platform designed to help parents discover kid-friendly activities, restaurants, and experiences in Madeira, all in one place.

Madeira Kids didn't start as a project. It started as a frustration.

One ordinary Saturday, we just wanted to go out with our kids. Something simple — a nice place where they could enjoy… and we could too. But what we found was scattered information, incomplete recommendations, places that looked perfect until you actually got there.

What should have been a simple family moment turned into hours of searching through Google, Instagram, maps, and reviews. Too much effort for something that should feel easy.

That's where it all began.

The idea

The Idea Behind Madeira Kids

We realized we weren't the only ones. Many families living in Madeira feel the same. And those arriving for the first time — even more so.

It's not that there aren't things to do on the island. It's that there isn't one place where everything is truly designed with families in mind.

"That's why we created Madeira Kids. Not as just another travel guide — but as a space where every recommendation actually makes sense in real life."

😤
The frustration: Scattered info, incomplete recommendations, hours of searching just to plan a simple family outing.
💡
The realization: We weren't the only ones. Families across Madeira — residents and visitors — all felt the same gap.
🛠
The solution: A place you can trust — built intentionally, with families at the center of every decision.
What we're building

What We're Building — and Why It Matters

Madeira Kids is growing step by step, with a very clear focus: we don't want many places — we want the right places. Every recommendation is intentional, validated by real families.

🎨 Activities that genuinely work with kids — not just in theory.
🍽️ Restaurants where families feel comfortable, not just tolerated.
📅 Events that are actually worth attending and planning around.
📍 Spaces where you don't have to wonder if it's suitable or not.

We're still building. There are many places yet to discover, validate, and share — and that's exactly why every recommendation here carries weight.

Our audience

Who Madeira Kids Is For

🏡
Families living in Madeira

Who want to make the most of the island they call home, every weekend.

✈️
Families who just arrived

Who don't know where to start and need a trusted place to begin.

🗺️
Visitors to the island

Who want to create real memories — not waste precious time searching.

Our promise

More Than a Platform

We want Madeira Kids to feel like advice from another parent — someone who's already been there and can tell you honestly what's worth it.

That level of trust

"Go here, it's actually worth it."

"You can relax here with kids."

"This one really works."

That's the standard we hold ourselves to with every single recommendation we publish.

Let's grow together

And Now, We're Opening the Door

At this stage, we're looking to connect with businesses that truly align with this vision — places, experiences, and projects that bring real value to families. We're not looking for quantity. We're looking for quality.

The goal is to grow together, naturally:

Sharing real experiences that families can actually trust.
Giving visibility to what deserves to be discovered.
Connecting businesses with families who are actually their audience.

If your business is built with families in mind, it probably makes sense for us to connect.

An Island Made for Little Explorers

Madeira is a special place. But when you have kids, the way you experience it changes — and that's not always reflected in traditional guides.

This isn't just a website. It's a solution to something we personally needed. And something we know many other families are looking for too.

🌿 Real experiences 👨‍👩‍👧 Built for families 📍 Madeira, always ✦ Curated with care
