About This Event

EXPRESSA-te is a three-day arts festival organised by Portal das Artes, with creative activities for children, families and adults. The opening takes place in Ponta do Sol; Saturday and Sunday take place in Funchal. Activities run at scheduled times, rather than continuously throughout the festival date range. DATES AND VENUES — MADEIRA LOCAL TIME Friday 13 November, 19:30–21:30: opening Bhajan gathering at Capela de Santo António, Ponta do Sol (Portuguese/English). Saturday 14 November, 09:30–21:30: Centro de Juventude do Funchal. Sunday 15 November, 09:30–21:00: Centro de Juventude do Funchal, including the closing concert at 20:00–21:00. SATURDAY — FAMILY HIGHLIGHTS 11:30–12:45, Sala Horizonte: Corpo, Linha e Movimento — Inspiração em Segni Mossi, with Sandra Carvalho. Dance, drawing and movement for children aged 8+. Portuguese. 14:30–16:30, Sala Horizonte: Mãos que Criam — soap-making workshop for parents and children, with Elena Sierra. Portuguese/English; confirm suitable ages with the organiser. SUNDAY — FAMILY HIGHLIGHTS 11:30–13:00, Sala Raíz: Fios da Natureza — creative raffia workshop for families, with Elisabete Madureira. Portuguese. 14:30–15:30, Sala Raíz: O Corpo conta Histórias — theatre for children and young people, with Alicia Raquel and Miguel Pestana. Portuguese/English. 14:30–16:00, Sala Horizonte: Tempo para Desligar, Amar, Brincar, with Sandra Carvalho and Tatiana Martins. A Portuguese-language talk for parents and educators about active play, presence and connecting with children in a digital world. 16:30–17:45, Sala Raíz: Dançar a Imaginação — creative dance for children aged 6–12, with Sónia Gouveia. Portuguese/English. REGISTRATION The organiser advertises a single €20 festival registration covering the activities you choose. Places are limited and advance registration is required.
